Wayne Thiebaud
Students learned about artist Wayne Thiebaud and looked at samples of his food themed paintings. They used the grid system to create enlarged drawings of different types of candy. Nice work!
Clay Animals
Students began by looking at images of clay animals and drawing a sketch of the animal they wanted to form with clay themselves. Bodies of the animals were formed first by rolling out a slab and wrapping it around crumpled newspaper. Next, the head, legs, arms, wings, tails, etc. were constructed and then attached to the body. Students learned the importance of having a hollow form when working with clay.
